DR. D. K. Smith has been an independent consultant since 1985 and has more than 40 years experience in the nonwovens industry; he is well known and widely published. Prior to forming his own practice, Dr. D. K. Smith, Consulting, he spent 19 years with the Chicopee Division of Johnson & Johnson as Director of Technological Planning and five additional years in corporate strategic planning. Smith holds a Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry from Purdue University.

As mentioned on our home page, Dee has remained an emeritus advisor to the firm since his retirement in 2005.

Both Smith and Johnson have been active participants in INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry. Smith was Chairman of IDEA76 and Johnson was Chairman of IDEA98 and IDEA2001. Johnson previously served two terms as Chairman of INDA'sTechnical Advisory Board. Johnson worked with INDA to develop the inaugural Vision 2002 Consumer Products Conference and developed a Consumer Products Workshop, including Hygiene Products Basics, which was featured at this conference. Johnson remains as Chairman of the Vision 2008 Advisory Committee. The World of Wipes conference is Johnson's latest collaboration with INDA on product trends in the
wipes markets.
